Love this session. It’s a good review from the 6 Sigma Green Belt Cert I obtained last December. All my plans for how I was going to use that knowledge quickly were messed up when Covid hit and I need to pivot to different ideas. Thanks for the good info. How ever do you keep all those certs current?! 🙂

    Hi, Anthony.

Thanks for writing and congrats on your six sigma green belt certification! Didn’t you just love it?!

You’ve posed a good question about how to keep current. Each certification has its own requirements for maintenance. Fortunately, many of them are a “one and one” and do not need recertification. Others have a rather hefty requirement. Honestly, I’m a bit of a geek about these topics and love to continue learning and adding to my personal library. That’s a long way to say that I just keep attending sessions and reading but, for me, it’s almost like a personal hobby. Weird, huh? 🙂

Thanks. I really did love it. Do you have some completed Library projects you’ve used 6 Sigma on that you can share?

Continuous Improvement is totally a worthwhile hobby! Any books other than the one mentioned in the slides that you would recommend? Thanks!

Great! I’m glad you loved it.

I have a long list of LSS books and they’re listed on the handout called Lean Resources. I find The Quality Toolbox to be a great reference book. You know, I just finished F-Notes and I loved that, too. So many to love! Not on the list are The Toyota Way, 2nd ed, which just was released and The Four Disciplines of Execution, which is not about six sigma but I think dovetails nicely, as it’s about a data focus and implementation.

As for completed library projects and six sigma, yes. I worked on material handling and also on program scheduling and others. What did you mean by sharing the project?
