General Session: Meaningful Metrics for Your Organization
This session will equip you with both a philosophical framework and the necessary details to ensure that your organization makes the most of its metrics, which are quantitative measures used to track organizational performance. Along with an overview of the value of metrics, you will learn the sources from which metrics are commonly generated—that is, where to begin! We will cover metrics selection criteria, attributes of effective metrics, metrics hierarchies, and final questions to ask to ensure that the metrics selected will benefit your organization as intended. You will learn what to look for when you are analyzing metrics as well as how to avoid unintended consequences. Finally, we will address reporting frequencies and review a model of a simple dashboard.
