Biography

Marisa Pelczar serves as a Program Analyst at the Institute of Museum and Library Services, managing both the Public Libraries Survey (PLS) and State Library Administrative Agency (SLAA) Survey, including developing the new Library Search & Compare Tool. She holds a PhD in Education Policy from Vanderbilt University, an MA in Social Thought and Humanities from NYU, and a BA in Art History from the University of Virginia.  Before joining IMLS in 2016, Marisa analyzed data, drafted reports, and developed infographics for US Department of Education projects. She analyzed grantee performance data for the Magnet Schools Assistance Program, drafted the national report and fact sheets on English Learners in the United States for the National Clearinghouse of English Language Acquisition, and analyzed data for the 2008 report on Program for International Student Assessment results.
