Biography
With a lifetime of professional experience in business, government and non-profit organizations, Jane Martel found her sweet spot working for Arapahoe Libraries in Colorado since 2008. As Senior Project Manager in the Project Management Office, Jane administers the library district’s project portfolio management system, trains and coaches project managers, serves on and/or manages strategic cross-functional initiatives such as the Employee Digital Experience and Data Strategy programs.
Drawn to the power of data and people to solve challenges, she puts her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Process Analyst, and Project Management Professional (PMP®) certifications to work. Jane is happiest when working with teams to revamp library processes to function more efficiently and effectively. She earned Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Science in Education degrees from the University of Maine, as well as a business-based post-baccalaureate certificate from the University of Louisville. Jane considers instructing at RIPL one of her favorite activities (“right up there with quilting”).
