Breakout: Think Outside the [Spreadsheet] Box: Collect and use data in Airtable, a spreadsheet/database hybrid tool
Are you currently collecting, managing, and visualizing operational data in MS Excel or Google Sheets? Have you experienced the downsides or limitations of this model? Are you ready to try a user-friendly tool that can help you move beyond the simple spreadsheet? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then this session will introduce you to Airtable. As one of the “no-code/low-code” platforms that have proliferated in the last decade, Airtable will initially look very familiar to those who are comfortable with spreadsheets. But its strengths lie in how you can summarize, visualize, and relate the same dataset in different ways for different users, as well as in how you can automate workflows when users enter data. Participants in this session will experience several applications for Airtable in a public library context and will broaden their understanding of what is possible outside of the spreadsheet box.
