Data collection and planning for outcomes become second nature for many of us, to the point that they seem easy. So why do public libraries struggle to grow a culture of evaluation across their organizations? Change. This session will explore the fundamentals of change management, including selling the problem, getting broad buy-in, dealing with ambiguity, and following through. Participants will leave with a framework for understanding staff resistance to change as well as tools for framing the adoption of evaluation and assessment best practices as a change that needs to be well-managed in order for it to be successful.
