I am fascinated by the LOGIC MODEL! Thankyou. I am switching around my sessions to take this as I feel I need this foundation before I can go on to some other things !Thankyou. I had to pause the video the video take a food break (leftover meatballs) to let some of this sink in. Wow. Just wow. I have never done anything like this, we are always flying by the seat of our pants. I hope I can implement this for all things and slow down a bit to be purposeful in my thinking as I approach programs and services. Thank you!

I am realizing that I do NOT talk enough with my stakeholders to know the issues they are passionate about in the community. I need to talk to them more but much separation here with library unfortunately, and I hope to change that. It is good to see that “me” the library should NOT always be the focus, but to tie back to them. I had NEVER thought of that before. The schools are a HUGE deal to them, I do know that. I also know that the mall here is suffering and business’s are leaving because rent is too high. I also know that this area is growing by leaps and bounds for work in the “lesser desired county” across the bay. People work there, but live here. But not much to do here, business is ok, and covid did not help. So I am sure they want to see more people doing things here and business thrive, but how could the library help with that? I had wanted to do this for a long time, but a get a library card and save 10% when you use it on your next shopping trip, but I wasn’t sure how to get that off the ground. Is that something that could have the LOGIC model applied to it?

HI Tracy. Yes, you could use the logic model to think thru why and how an alliance that involves discounts would work for the business(es) and the library. WWIFT (what’s in it for them?) WWIFY (what’s in it for you – or for the library). What would “come out” of the alliance for residents and/or small business? What would be the mid-term impact for the funders (elected or city officials)?

The more you know about what their headaches are – and what their aspirations are, the better you can design a Advil for them. 🙂
