Breakout: Count Your Impact: Getting Started With Outcome-Based Evaluation

This session is recommended if you are just getting started with data and evaluation.

Your library offers a lot of great programs, resources, and services, but how can you determine what effects these have on your users?

In this session, you’ll learn practical tips for getting started with outcome-based evaluation. You will gain a deeper understanding of what outcomes are, how to develop a plan for evaluation including what types of data to collect to answer your evaluation questions, and how to measure outcomes.

You will get the most out of this session if you come  with an evaluation project in mind. What is an evaluation project? It’s simply a library program or service you want to evaluate. Here are some examples of past projects participants have brought to RIPL:

  • ESL tutoring
  • Outreach to senior centers
  • Digital literacy program series
  • Early literacy storytimes
